Amy Cardona came to the Texas Pension Review Board in November 2021 as the Director of Programs and Services and began serving as the Interim Executive Director in March 2022. She was named the agency’s executive director effective May 13, 2022. She has more than15 years of experience in state government in both the legislative and executive branches. Ms. Cardona worked at the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission for more than a decade, conducting reviews of state agencies, making recommendations for change, and shepherding reforms through the legislative process. Ms. Cardona also worked at the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission for nearly four years and oversaw multiple complex agency initiatives to implement legislation and to make internally driven process improvements. Ms. Cardona holds a Master of Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. She also earned a Gold Seal Certificate in Project Management in 2019, also from the University of Texas.
